To the Editor:

I’m delighted that Rebekah Harriman-Stites is running for reelection to the Board of Education. She’s done an exemplary job during her current four year term, during which she was elected vice-chair and I’m sure will continue to do the same after her reelection. She brings to the BOE not only her brilliance and capacity for hard work, but also considerable experience in dealing with complex issues gained from her involvement with numerous other organizations, such as co-founding a fundraising consulting firm and Newtown Forward, whose members play an active role in urging legislators to pass laws of benefit to Newtown. Her dedication to the BOE stems not only from an interest in providing an important public service, but also from a personal one, because she’s the mother of a Newtown public school student.

I urge my fellow Newtowners to join me in voting for Rebekah Harriman-Stites on Election Day, November 5th.
