To The Editor:

I am writing this letter to endorse Joan Plouffe for reelection to the Newtown Police Commission. As a current seated member of the commission, she has shown the personal investment and commitment required to be successful at the position. Joan diligently researches topics and brings forth value-add ideas to the team. Her experience in the role today will allow her to carry forward the positive momentum into the future.

Joan has shown a commitment toward continuous improvement within our community through her experience on the Newtown Police Commission, the Charter Revision Committee, Long-Term Strategic Planning for the Newtown School District, the Commission on Aging, and various other capacities of volunteerism in Newtown. I have observed Joan’s leadership across many of these efforts, and I appreciate her ongoing advocacy for important decisions in Newtown. Joan displayed her leadership with her successful advocacy for the new police station. Joan is also a great listener and has the critical thinking required for this position.

I hope Newtown comes together in support of reelecting Joan Plouffe to the Newtown Police Commission; but also I just want to say thank you. Thank you Mrs Plouffe for your years of service, and thank you for your leadership within our special community.
