To the Editor:

Every so often, the right person steps forward to fill a public position. Attorney Tim Holian is the right person to serve as Newtown’s next Judge of Probate. I have known Tim for years as a colleague in the practice of law and as a fellow member of the Legislative Council. He has been practicing law in Newtown for over 25 years and has devoted much of his practice to Probate Court matters.

He has the knowledge, the experience and a quiet, thoughtful demeanor that will serve him well in the position. His level of compassion and understanding will be an asset to a court that is often “home” to matters that arise from life’s greatest difficulties. In addition, his service on the Legislative Council has proven to me his ability to weigh competing interests and make decisions. He is simply the most experienced and most qualified of the three candidates running for the position. When Newtown joins with Bethel, Redding, and Ridgefield, he will be a strong contender for the regional judgeship. Newtown should take advantage of this opportunity and elect Attorney Tim Holian its next Judge of Probate
