Town and state police participating in the project found 30 violations overall, which included the issuance of 13 tickets and one written warning, police said.

One driver received a total of $3,012 in fines for various offenses, police said.

The violations uncovered included: operating outside the designated terms of a trucking permit, driving with an unsecured load, violation of transportation permits due to lack of warning flags and lack of escort vehicles, failure to register for transportation in Connecticut, and failure to have an annual inspection.

It was the ninth time during the past three years that local police participated in a truck inspection project.
