Matt, who competed in three events while representing the Oxford Special Olympics squad, won silver in the 4x25 relay and a participation ribbon in the 50-meter freestyle.

Now he will perform in the Connecticut Special Olympics on Friday and Saturday, June 11 and 12.

The Morrison family moved to Newtown from Omaha, Nebraska, back in November. Matt, 16, has competed in Special Olympics track for eight years. His other interests include baseball and basketball and he served as a team manager for the Newtown High School boys’ basketball team last winter.
