Do you ever open the Letter Hive and feel like it’s the same thing week after week? The same people are at it again, and it’s never anything new. Every week I see the same names promoting themselves and playing the political game, but don’t you just wish there was someone new who would come forward and be a powerful voice who was in line with the needs of you and your family?

Well this week I’m pleased to announce that there is a new name out there, and I invite all of you to get familiar with the name Julie Luby. Julie Luby will be running on the Democratic ticket for Board of Education this year, and I invite you all to learn about who she is and how she can be a powerful voice for us in the future. Julie Luby is currently an educator, taxpayer, and mother of children in the public school system. Julie brings her extensive educational and administrative experience to the table, and she clearly wears all of the hats necessary to be successful on the board of education. With her educational background (which has included being a teacher and school principal), Julie knows what questions to ask, how to interpret educational data, how to make curriculum decisions, and has actual experience making difficult budget decisions. Julie has spent years problem-solving in the school system; can you say this about all of the candidates running?

While I feel most of the candidates running want to serve the community for worthwhile reasons, have you researched their educational and administrative credentials? What actual school experience do these other candidates have other then being a taxpayer or PTA volunteer? While certain names may be familiar to you because of a party endorsement, I hope you think before you vote on election day and choose the name of a person who has the background, leadership abilities, and experience to move the Board of Education in the right direction. Julie Luby is the most qualified of all the candidates and I hope you will learn about her and support her on election day.
