Vote For Ned Simpson
To the Editor:
For as long he has lived in Newtown, Ned Simpson has busied himself with an extraordinary number of volunteer activities to the benefit of the people of his new town.
Beginning with the Friends of Newtown Seniors’ enrollment in the AARP/WHO Livable Communities project, his leadership along with John Boccuzzi, Sr, has lead them to define and address over 130 opportunities for improving livability for the people of Newtown. From adding more walking trails to creating a new window on the Newtown website for Senior Resources and Information, Ned has worked diligently towards making things happen. When a seat on the Board of Finance opened, Ned was tapped to fill the vacancy. A review of his voting record on the Board of Finance reveals a strong position for his consideration and management for saving taxpayer’s dollars. In a previous professional position, he worked for the federal government directing the installation of a multi-billion dollar public health program in New York State.
Ned’s volunteerism does not stop with his work in Newtown. He and his wife, Katherine, volunteered at their church to spend a week in rural Mississippi to repair houses for the poor and indigent living there.
I have never met nor worked with a harder working executive with a firmer grasp of people oriented issues, nor with a better skill set to reduce complex issues to workable solutions. I wholeheartedly endorse Ned Simpson to be returned to the Board of Finance and encourage all voters to come out to vote, and vote for Ned Simpson.
