To the Editor:

I’m writing to ask for your support for my candidacy for the Newtown Legislative Council in District 2.

I’ve lived with my family in Newtown for 17 years and I’m passionate about our community. My goals since the first day I entered office in 2017 have been to fight for appropriate focus on our schools, develop a prudent business environment, and encourage broader participation and openness in government. With your support, I can continue to serve my community in pursuit of those goals for the next two years.

In my first term, I was a diligent participant in all of the Legislative Council activities. I served on the education subcommittee and am proud to have supported our education budget. I also helped write and support a plastic bag ban in town that went above and beyond the state’s ban, to ensure that both our businesses and our environment would benefit from that change in policy.

My prior campaign and my first term have been a testament to our community’s willingness to open the doors to new voices and perspectives. I am grateful for the opportunity that you all gave me to serve, but more than anything I’m grateful for the chance to encourage others to speak up, get involved, and join me in making Newtown stronger.
