Burglary/Larceny

Police received a report this week that a burglary/larceny had occurred at a residential property on Frontage Road.

Frontage Road is a dead-end street that extends from Currituck Road and runs parallel to the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84.

Someone pried a lock off a garage door and then entered the garage, where they stole a tool set and a leaf blower. Police ask anyone with knowledge of the crime to contact them at the police station, 203-426-5841.

Sugar Street Crash

A two-vehicle accident occurred in front of 126 Sugar Street at about 7:48 am on December 21.

Motorist Carrie Cabral, 46, of 126 Sugar Street was backing a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country minivan out of her driveway, as trucker Andrew Verno, 23, of Middlebury was driving a 2005 Isuzu box truck on Sugar Street, police said. 

The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Cabral a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.
