The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard will hold its annual show on Sunday, July 30, from 8 am to 4 pm, at its Fairfield Hills facility.

There will be English, Western, Hunt, Pleasure and Driving classes available

The show is recognized by the Connecticut Horse Shows Association (CSHA) and Connecticut Hunter & Jumper Association (CHJA). Entries will close on July 21. Contact Naomi Gauruder at 203-650-3148 or BHCManagement@cs.com to enter ($15 fee).

Spectators are welcome. Contact the Horse Guard at 426-5686 or email publicaffairs@2GHG.com for further information and directions.

The horse show committee serving this year includes Second Lieutenant Jennifer Taylor (chairperson), Cpl. Lisa Plucinski (treasurer), Cpl. Karen Casagrande (ribbons and trophies) and Sgt. Cindy Joyce (publicity).

Perpetual trophies to be awarded include –

Governor’s Cup: To be awarded to the highest scoring Adult Amateur Hunter or Modified Adult Amateur Hunter, based on points. In case of a tie, the Adult Amateur Hunter would be awarded the trophy.

Adjutant General’s Perpetual Trophy: To be awarded to the highest scoring Children’s Hunter, based on points. In case of a tie, the winners will hack off for the award.

Town of Newtown Perpetual Trophy: To be awarded to the highest scoring Short Stirrup Rider, based on points. In case of a tie, judge’s discretion will award the trophy.
