United Way’s

Community Impact

To the Editor:

The United Way of Northern Fairfield County brings together community leaders, nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and businesses to focus on the most pressing needs in our community and provides the resources — human, technical and financial — to attack the root causes of these needs. That is community impact, and that is our work.

This work would not be possible without the many hundreds of volunteers who are involved in supporting our United Way’s mission of bringing together the resources to build a better, stronger and more caring community. From the 800 volunteers who rolled up their sleeves during our Day of Caring in September, to our board of directors, the heart of the United Way is the individuals who volunteer their time and lend their expertise to make a difference in our community.

One of our four community impact areas is “Encouraging Community Involvement,” which focuses on getting people involved in their neighborhoods and their communities. What matters is the result of these individuals’ giving of their time and talents — improved lives in our community.

During National Volunteer Week April 18–24, we salute our volunteers and encourage others to follow their example. Together we can make a difference!

Sincerely,

June Renzulli, President

United Way of

Northern Fairfield County
