Tai Chi Easy, Take Ten Series — A three-class course starting November 1, 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, $59. Feel better fast with ten-minute Tai Chi Easy formulas. Transform by awakening internal healing resources in just ten seconds. Choose to start the day, take a break, or end the day performing the ten minute Tai Chi Easy movement series, ten minute Tai Chi Easy movement total body tune-up, or ten minute Tai Chi Easy massage intensive. A $15 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.

Google Sites Website Design — A one-class course on November 5, 6:30 pm to 9 pm, $39. Google offers a template for designing websites. Learn how to create and publish a website tailored to specific needs. Students should have a Gmail account prior to class.

Online Safety (Daytime Class) — A one-class course on November 7, 3 pm to 5:30 pm, $39. No one wants to be the victim of identity theft, to lose important data, or find that their computer has become infected. Yet these are all far too regular occurrences. In this class, students will talk about the threats that are lurking and how to do their best to stay safe online, from firewalls to phishing, from social engineering to security software, from ransomware to malware, from backups to updates, and from passwords to pop-ups. These are among the topics that the class will cover.

Remote Caregiving, Or Caring For A Distant Loved One — A one-class course on November 7, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, $29. With mobile families and ongoing relocations, the synergy of multiple generations of families being in close proximity is no longer the norm. Compounded by an aging population, the concept of remote caregiving is becoming the new norm in looking out for and taking care of distant family members and loved ones. This requires a whole new set of skills to be acquired. The remote caregiver must become somewhat of geriatric specialist and gerontologist as well as a more sensitive and compassionate person. The class will discuss real life experiences and help attendees formulate the contents of their own unique remote caregiving plans.

Ballroom Dancing — A four-class course starting November 8, 7 pm to 8 pm, $99 per couple or $51 per single. Learn the Fox Trot, Waltz, Cha-Cha, and more. Joe Williams and Noni Low have been dancing together for more than 21 years and teaching ballroom dance for beginners to advanced for more than 15 years. Their basic concept of ballroom dancing consists of having fun with easy-to-learn instructions. Couples and singles welcome.

Street Smarts And Self-Defence, Basic For Series — A four-class course starting November 1, 7 pm to 8 pm, $99. Train in everyday clothes. Learn techniques that are practical, realistic, and that will work when needed. This series is designed to help students reach their potential for any age, sex, or physical condition.

Peggy Shippan Arnold, Loyalist — A one-class course on November 7, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, $59. A woman with multiple parts to her personality as the love interest to a British spymaster and wife of a famous Revolutionary War hero turned Revolutionary War traitor, learn the story of this colorful lady and her family. A story not often told story in history books and a very interesting tale of romance and betrayal.

Adult Child CPR/AED — A one-class course on November 8, 6 pm to 8:30 pm, $89. Positively Shocking LLC can teach the skills and provide a two-year American Red Cross Certification in CPR in an easy and fun environment. The course is designed so that lay persons will react with confidence in an emergency situation. In addition to the one-night CPR/AED class, students can register for a one-night First Aid class

Fused Glass Snowflakes — A one-class course on November 14, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, $69. Guided by a pattern, students will create two beautiful snowflakes using strips and bits of fusible glass. These are wonderful seasonal decorations for any home and make a fabulously unique gift. No previous experience necessary. Snowflakes will be ready for pick-up approximately one week following the workshop. Students should wear closed shoes and long pants. There is a materials fee of $8 to be paid to the artist at time of class. Optional specialty glass will be available for purchase. Hot cider will be served. Limited to eight students. Not handicap accessible (stairs). All classes will be held at the Kelly Makuch Studio, 222 Brushy Hill Road, Newtown.

First Aid — A one-class course on November 15, 6 pm to 9:30 pm, $104. Positively Shocking LLC can teach the skills and provide a two-year American Red Cross Certification in First Aid in an easy and fun environment. This course is designed so that lay persons will react with confidence in an emergency situation. In addition, students can register for a one-night class in CPR.

The Wonderful World Of Mel Brooks — A one-class course on November 14, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, $59. A gifted and talented comedian, director, producer, and actor, learn how Mel Brooks has left his mark on modern filmmaking and the generations that follow. The class will discuss any films of Mel Brooks and stories of the film actors that made them.

Andy Warhol Exhibit At The Whitney Museum Of American Art — A day trip on November 18, departs Newtown approximately at 8:30 am, $99. New York City’s Whitney Museum of American Art is planning the city’s first comprehensive Andy Warhol retrospective in nearly 30 years. This limited-time exhibition will span all media and periods of the artist’s career, including his early commercial illustrations from the 1950s, his experimental films from the 1970s, and his somewhat maligned shadow and skull paintings from the late 1970s. Come and experience the largest solo exhibition to date in the Whitney’s Meatpacking District building. Lunch will be “on your own” at either the nearby Chelsea Market or at Brookfield Place. No discounts apply.

Christmas In Newport — A day trip on December 9, departs Newtown approximately at 6:45 am, $133. Travel to Newport, Rhode Island. The tour will begin at the Newport Visitor’s Center, where a guide will join the group. The group will then spend some time in downtown Newport and reboard the bus for a ten-mile ocean drive as the guide shares information and history associated with the city and the amazing estates along the way. Immediately following, the group will enjoy a lunch at La Forge Restaurant and walk off the meal as they tour two magnificent mansions of Newport, Rhode Island: The Breakers and The Elms, facetiously referred to as “summer cottages.” This tour requires a quite a bit of walking. Trips are non-refundable and run rain or shine. The price of this tour is all inclusive. No discounts apply.
