Chambers Plan Business After Hours
The Newtown Chamber of Commerce and the Monroe Chamber of Commerce will hold a âBusiness After Hoursâ event on Tuesday, March 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, at the Fireside Inn, 123 South Main Street.
The event is being sponsored by Peoples Bank branches of Newtown and Monroe.
âSince we have offices in each of those towns, this Business After Hours is a great opportunity to bring Peopleâs Bank to the business community and to get to meet our business associates,â said Mary McNamara, Peoples Bank market manager for the Monroe, Newtown, and Southbury markets.
Victor Catalano, president of the Monroe Chamber, said the Business After Hour events are very beneficial.
âThese joint meetings ââ which weâve had two or three times before ââ have been well attended and well received,â he said. âFrom our point of view, we enjoy alternating between the two towns and meeting with our fellow chamber members from the neighboring community.â
Christina Maturi, president of the Newtown Chamber echoed that sentiment.
âOpportunities like this provide both townsâ chamber members a chance to communicate one on one and expand their business network,â she said.
The program is free to chamber members and $10 for nonmembers. To make a reservation call the Newtown Chamber of Commerce at 426-2695.
