To the Editor:

I would like to bring to the community’s attention a local issue, which requires immediate resolution.

On the Fairfield Hills campus, a new business is coming soon and advertising its new name of “Newsylum.” After speaking with other local persons, we all feel that this name is insensitive and offensive for a Newtown brewing company, because Fairfield Hills has a dark past. There still is a stigma surrounding mental health issues, and Sandy Hook is nearby with the community still in the process of healing.

Please ask the owners to choose a new name, which better reflects the loving and healing nature of Newtown.
