Occupation: I have been an accountant since 1991, working out of my home. I specialize in business evaluations of distributor companies in the welding industry. I have a bachelor of science degree in accounting from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Penn.

How Long in Newtown: I have lived in Newtown for 18 years. Prior to this, I lived in Houston, Texas, and Philadelphia.

Biggest Change Seen in Town: My kids were young when we moved here. I’ve seen the changes in them and the changes in their friends. I’ve watched our kids and their friends turn into fine young adults.

Family: My wife, Joan, and I have been married for 27 years. She is a school psychologist in Danbury. We have two children. Jennifer, 22, a graduate of Lafayette, works for a non-profit organization in Boston. Nicholas, 20, is a junior at Penn State and wants to be a chemistry teacher.

Pets: Linde, 12, a mutt, is the best dog I ever had. We got her out of the Danbury pound for $5.

Hobbies: I’ve been playing bridge for at least 15 years. I also have been playing poker for the same amount of time with the same guys, who are neighbors or guys I’ve worked with. I also enjoy scuba diving in warm water, such as Key Largo, Fla., Maui, or the Grand Caymens. I also enjoy watching high school sports.

Favorite Books and Authors: I am not an avid reader, but enjoy technical, war, or science fiction. Some authors I like are Michael Crighton, Dean Koontz, or John DelVecchio.

Favorite TV Show: My favorite shows are mostly on Wednesday night, Dawson’s Creek, West Wing, and Law and Order. On Monday, I enjoy Once and Again.

Organizations: I was coach for every sport in town, centered around children, including soccer, basketball, and softball. I am a member of St Rose Church.

Most Vivid Memory of Newtown: The year the boys won the state soccer title, the year Greg Gallagher made a shot that beat Brookfield at Masuk in the last second, and when Newtown’s soccer team upset Hand-Madison in the semi-finals. Larry Ashmore was the coach, and that was the happiest I’ve ever seen him.

Favorite Vacation Spot: Any cruise in the Caribbean.

Personal Philosophy: Put a smile on someone’s face once a day. Perform an act of random kindness once a day. Treat everyone how you would like to be treated. Be kind, and don’t take yourself too seriously.
