Living History Demonstrators

Do you have a talent you could share with the community? The Newtown Historical Society is looking for crafters to participate in its “Living History” demonstration series.

Demonstrations of crafts with Colonial roots or historic themes are held several Sundays a year during open house events at the society’s Matthew Curtis House. The 18th Century house-museum is at 44 Main Street in Newtown.

Demonstrations are needed for May, June, September and October 2000. Past demonstrations have included blacksmithing, spinning/weaving, candle dipping, and theorem painting.

For more information about participating, call the Newtown Historical Society at 426-5937.
