Improving The Chemotherapy Experience

BRIDGEPORT — The Fairfield County Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Amgen, and the Oncology Nursing Society will present “Improving the Chemotherapy Experience” on Thursday, December 14, at the Hawley Conference Center in St Vincent’s Medical Center at 2500 Main Street in Bridgeport.

This free program is an open forum for cancer patients and caregivers. Registration and a light supper will take place from 5:30 to 6 pm with the program to follow until 8 pm.

Program highlights include why and how to prepare for chemotherapy; developing an effective chemotherapy plan; managing the physical side effects of chemotherapy; understanding and coping with the emotional impact of chemotherapy; resources for patients and caregivers; and a question and answer session with program speakers. Featured speakers include Glen A. Rezikoff, MD, medical oncologist; Julia Register, RN, oncology nurse educator, and cancer survivors.
