The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard is calling all area residents to join the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital SADDLE-UP horse trail ride slated for Sunday, November 7. Locally, corporal Laura Razowski has volunteered to coordinate the program.

The trail ride will begin at the Horse Guard facilities on the Fairfield Hills campus. Starting times will be from 9 am to 1:30 pm. The ride will be 10 miles in length and take about 90 minutes to complete.

“We’re looking for riders of all ages who will contribute their time and talent to help children live,” said corporal Razowski. “We need lots of riders, since they are the one who can make this ride a successful one.”

In the SADDLE-UP trail ride, riders will ask sponsors to make a donation based on each mile completed of the 10-mile outing. All riders turning in money will receive a ribbon. Those who raise $35 or more will receive a ribbon and a special St. Jude t-shirt. When $75 or more is raised, the rider will receive a sports bag in addition to the ribbon and t-shirt.

Anyone raising $125 or more will receive a St. Jude sweatshirt.

“The real prize, though, is the pride everyone can take in giving children a chance to live a normal life,” said corporal Razowski.

Contact corporal Razowski at 1-203-734-5071 for further information on how you can become a rider or sponsor a rider.
