Marie A. Attanasio

Devoted Homemaker

Marie “Molly” (Addessi) Attanasio, 85, of Danbury, wife of the late Gerard Attanasio, Sr, died at the Lutheran Home in Southbury on August 29. She was born in Danbury on November 3, 1921, daughter of Joseph and Vincenza (Pasquence) Addessi.

She will be sadly missed by her brother, John Addessi of Newtown; her three sisters, Angelina A. Perrett and Katherine Day, both of Danbury, and Rita Nickerson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her son, Gerard E. Attanasio and his wife, Valerie, of Middlebury; her two grandsons, Gerard E. Attanasio III and Thomas J. Attanasio; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mrs Attanasio was a lifetime member of the Danbury community. She worked as a seamstress for many area clothing shops. She was a parishioner of St Peter Church. She was a devoted homemaker who dedicated herself to her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 31, at 10:30 am, at St Peter Church, Danbury. Burial will be in St Peter Cemetery following the service. There are no calling hours.

The Cornell Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
