Openings For Work Camp 2008

Enjoy a mission trip, meet new friends, and help a community in need by volunteering your time and talents. Newtown Congregational Church and St Rose of Lima Church may have the ticket.

Teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15 (in high school) are invited to join groups from these two churches when they head to Wilmington, N.C., from July 5 -13 for a weeklong mission trip.

An opening meeting for interested campers and parents will be held Sunday, November 4, from 12:30 to 2 pm, at NCC, 14 West Street. The meeting will cover the expectations, past experiences, and fundraising efforts for work camp.

Teens will fundraise and attend social events throughout the year to finance the bus trip in July to Wilmington. Work camp efforts culminates with a weeklong venture incorporating community service by construction crews and adventures with peers from many states across the country. The Workcamp Foundation organizes the jobsites, programs, and accommodations.
