To the Editor:

The Newtown Choral Society played to an enthusiastic crowd as we presented Conrad Susa’s Carols and Lullabies, Dave Brubeck’s Psalm 30 and other songs of the holiday season at the Meeting House, Sunday, December 14.

Melding traditional songs with modern carols, our director, Mary Andreotta, led us in a varied and vibrant program while Susan Anthony-Klein supported us with her inspired performance as she accompanied us.

We would like to thank The Newtown Bee for its support, but especially Nancy Crevier and Shannon Hicks for keeping our name before the public

We thank our ticket takers Andrea von Amelunxen and Gregory  Andrew. We thank Peter Andrew and Andrea von Amelunxen for hosting our after concert celebration at their gracious home. We also thank Clive Beddoe-Stephens, Chuck Magoulas, Dick Zang and Jonathan Gamble for helping us move our musical equipment.

The choir would especially like to thank Nancy Dvorin for creating and supporting our page on Facebook.

Finally, we must thank my husband, Kenneth.  As usual, Kenneth lent his computer expertise, his patience and his muscle wherever it was needed.

The Newtown Choral Society, which is in its 28th year, will begin rehearsals for its Spring concert in January. We are a community choir and welcome new members from all area towns and have openings in all voices. If it is your time to raise your voice in song in a supportive environment, contact me at 426-3769 or lel-choir2@se-ltd.com if you would like to discuss joining the Newtown Choral Society.  We perform two concerts a year, sing at local events and weddings and practice Wednesday evenings at the Newtown Middle School.
