Taking Your Business Online

BETHEL — A program for entrepreneurs and business owners, “The Ten Things You Should Know Before You Take Your Business Online,” will be offered at Bethel Public Library on Monday, October 15, from 7 to 7:45 pm. The presenter is Alexis D. Gutzman, author of The E-Commerce Arsenal and three other books on Web technology.

Ms Gutzman is an e-commerce consultant sought out for her experience and savvy in developing, teaching, and implementing Web-based technologies. She has managed wide-ranging projects including optimizing merchant sites for search engines and implementing a shopping wizard for an online merchant. She also created the first opt-in targeted e-mail service in 1997. Currently, she is the e-commerce technology advisor for Internet.com’s “E-Commerce Guide” (ecommerce internet.com) and a columnist for office.com.

Booklist praised The E-Commerce Arsenal and seven reviewers on Amazon.com gave it five-star ratings, the highest possible ranking.

An international speaker as well as writer on Web technologies, Ms Gutzman lives in Bethel.

Reservations for the program are recommended and can be made by phoning 794-8756 and holding the line, or by signing up in the library’s Apple Blossom Room.
