Rosy The Rescue Wins Library’s Cutest Pet Contest
After much anticipation, the C.H. Booth Library made the formal declaration that the winner of its 2019 Cutest Pet Contest was Rosy the dog, owned by Newtown residents Cris Carvalho and Paul Fadus.
The announcement took place outside on the library’s patio on National Dog Day, August 26, with Ms Carvalho and Rosy in attendance.
The Cutest Pet Contest was conducted as a fundraiser for the C.H. Booth Library, with each vote cast costing $1. The public was invited to review the poster board set up on the second floor of the library with each candidates’ photo submission.
Out of the 23 submissions, nine were cats, 13 were dogs, and one was a snake.
Three-year-old Rosy is believed to be a boxer/hound mix and was adopted from TLC Sweet Souls Rescue, a local nonprofit animal organization based in Newtown, Ms Carvalho said.
C.H. Booth Library Director Douglas Lord told The Newtown Bee that the Cutest Pet Contest raised almost $300 for the library.
As the winner, Rosy’s owners not only have bragging rights for the rest of the year, but they also received a $25 monetary prize.
