A Very Tight Fit

To the Editor:

The article appearing in the Bee on September 2 about the tight fit at the Newtown Senior Center is very true. When there is a special presentation, such as the Ice Cream Social, put on by TRIAD to take a lick out of CRIME, we were lucky to have nice weather and able to use the room outside.  All of us seniors, like Marilyn, have a big Wish List. It would be nice not to have to put tables and chairs up and down to make room for line dance, exercise, playing cards and eating lunch. Or giving up one of our activities to sub another.  I have been active at the Senior Center since 1998. I have made many nice friends. Attend most of the socials and go on trips. I’m sure, if we are able to get our Wish for more space. More of our seniors on our mailing list (2000+) would come to socialize, have lunch, and make new friends too.

I know First Selectman Herb Rosenthal likes us and will start the wheels turning to expand our building to give us more room.
