Five members of the Newtown High School field hockey team – part of the Connecticut Crush II team – traveled to Palm Springs, California this week to take part in the National USFHA (United States Field Hockey Association) California Festival. Players included (front row) Jessica Gaddis and Cat Williams and (back row) Jackie Darigo, NHS captain Amanda Hadgraft (All-SWC and All-State selection), and Christie Caruso. Games will be played November 27 through November 29 against teams from across the country – including Virginia, Maryland and Michigan. Mimi Duran of WaMaGo High School coaches the team.
