Moms, Daughters Girl’s Night Out

New Milford — On Thursday May 8, from 6:45 to 8:30 pm, ob/gyn Rachel Leonardi, DO, will provide a lecture titled “Girls’ Night Out for Mothers & Daughters: The Cycle of Life” at New Milford Hospital, Robinson Conference Rooms.

The bond between a mother and daughter follows many paths throughout life, and so does their genetic relationship. Although mother/daughter communication can be challenging at times, health issues have never been more important to discuss with the women in a family.

From nutrition and exercise to diseases such as the human papillomavirus and HIV, women of all ages should be aware of ways to maintain or improve their health. This discussion will explore concerns regarding the evolution of birth control medications, reproductive and menstrual characteristics, the third-generational exposure effects of DES, and information on the HPV vaccine.

In addition to Dr Leonardi’s presentation, the hospital’s Breast Health Navigator will provide breast care demonstrations and literature.

Women of all ages (mothers, daughters, friends, and relatives) are invited to attend this informative discussion. An open question and answer forum will follow the presentation.

Come early for refreshments and to register for a “Pink is Fun Basket” drawing. This program is free, open to the public and preregistration is requested by calling toll free 800-350-1595 or online at www.newmilfordhospital.org.
