Police said they saw motorist Frank Betar, 27, of Bridgeport cross South Main Streetâs double yellow center lines as he was rounding a curve near Cold Spring Road about 11 pm October 22.
Police said they stopped Betar and investigated, charging him with failure to drive to the right on a curve, operating a motor vehicle while under suspension, misuse of a marker plate and possession of marijuana.
Police said they held Betar on bond for an October 25 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
DWI Warrant
Police report Joy Santos, 32, of Huntington turned herself in at the police station October 24 after learning there was a warrant for her arrest on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
The arrest stems from a one-car accident in which Santos was involved July 31 in Sandy Hook Center, police said. Police released her on a promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court November 4.
Housatonic Hotel
Police said that while working on an investigation they located Jonathan A. Schwartz, 20, of Danbury inside Unit 12 at the Housatonic Hotel on Waterview Drive in Riverside. Police charged Schwartz with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Schwartz is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court November 4 to answer the charges.
Attempted Burglary
Police said they were sent to a Bennetts Bridge Road home about 1:13 pm October 21 in response to a burglar alarm sounding.
On arriving, police found that a rear window had been opened and window screen was cut. It appears nothing was stolen in the break-in, police said. Damage is estimated at about $50.
Moving Violation
Police report they observed motorist Thomas E. Allen, 39, of Bridgeport driving southbound on Queen Street about 10 pm October 25, after which they stopped him. Police charged Allen with operating a motor vehicle while under suspension. Police released Allen for a November 4 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Grand Place
Police said a sedan driven by Maryjean D. Cerney, 31, of Danbury backed into a 1996 Buick Regal driven by Patricia Denlinger, 59, of 32 Grand Place at the intersection of Grand Place and Queen Street about 3:20 pm October 25. Both cars were waiting to enter Queen Street from Grand Place, police said. There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Cerney for unsafe backing.
Route 34
Police report a two-car accident at the intersection of Route 34 and Paugussett Road about 1:20 pm October 25.
Police said motorist Cynthia E. Tangredi, 32, of Wallingford, who was driving a 1996 Ford Escort southbound on Route 34, attempted to turn left onto Paugussett Road, but turned in front of northbound motorist Perry J. DeGeorge, III, 31, of Seymour, who was driving a 1988 Dodge Shadow, resulting in a collision.
There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Tangredi for failure to grant the right of way
