Cecelia G. (Schick) Joseph, 90, of Stratford, died on June 24 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the widow of Louis L. Joseph.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ron Smith of Newtown.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., to the late Edward and Philomena Schick, she had been a Stratford resident for 26 years and had previously resided in Norwalk for 15 years. She had been a member of the Junior Bridge Club for 70 years. Mrs Joseph had been a member of the Ladies Guild of St Matthew Church in Norwalk, where she had also served as a volunteer secretary. An avid bowler, she also enjoyed ceramics and crocheting.
She is also survived by another daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Dennis Williams of Prospect, Ky.; four grandchildren, Janet McKeown and her husband, Cole, Steven Smith and his wife, Karen, Gregory Williams and his wife, Valerie, and Jessica Williams; two great-grandchildren, Jonah and Heather McKeown; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held on June 28 in the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford, and at St Mark Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
