Violet Telep
Violet Telep, 98, of Sandy Hook died June 30. She was the wife of the late Michael Telep. She was born in New York City September 22, 1916, and was a daughter of the late Anna (DeStefano) and John Scognamiglio.
She was a resident of Sandy Hook for the past four years, since coming from Peekskill, N.Y. Mrs Telep was a member of St Ann’s Melkite Greek Catholic Church of Danbury.
Her son, Dan Telep, and his wife Ellen; her daughter, Barbara Borrello, and her husband Nick; and two grandchildren, Nicole Borrello and Michael Telep, survive Mrs Telep. In addition to her husband and parents, a grandson, Joseph Borrello, predeceased her.
The Rite of Burial will take place Friday, July 3, at 10 am, in St Ann Melkite Church, 181 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury, with the Archimandrite Michael K. Skrocki officiating. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.
The family will receive friends on Friday, from 9 to 10 am, at St Ann Melkite Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Don Monti Memorial Research Foundation, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, 1 Bungtown Road, Cold Spring Harbor NY 11724; or to the St Ann’s Church Building Fund.
