To the Editor:

Once again our State Representative Julia Wasserman has come through for Newtown. She has persuaded the powers in Hartford to sell around 37 acres in the commercial park area, near the post office, to the town for $1. Hopefully the Legislative Council will see their way to vote the dollar for this land purchase.

Representative Wasserman is to be commended for her efforts for our town.

Newtown does not seem to receive many grants. We read about other towns in our area receiving many thousands of dollars for one-thing-and-another… but not Newtown. It is wonderful to see money coming to Newtown at least once through the work of a dedicated individual.

Representative Julia Wasserman, a Republican, has a difficult row-to-hoe in the state legislature where the Democrats usually have the say. As a Newtowner I would like to thank Julia Wasserman for their continuing hard fought efforts for our town.
