BRIDGEPORT â âIâm Too Young for Menopause!â a three-part series for women with breast cancer, is the next program for St Vincentâs Breast Cancer Lecture Series. The three sessions will be on Tues, July 10, Tues, July 24, and Tues, Sept 4, 5:30 to 7 pm, in the Hawley 3 Conference Rm of St Vincentâs Medical Center. Series is free and open to the public.
Featured speakers are menopause counselor Carol Jakab, RN, and registered dietitian Ann Zowine, RD, who will discuss the changes that occur during an early menopause induced by chemotherapy and other treatments. Meeting on alternate Tuesday evenings, St Vincentâs Breast Cancer Support Group also provides information on support services through the Medical Center and the community, and allows breast cancer patients and their families an opportunity to share their feelings and concerns when coping with the disease.
The groupâs programs are offered free to the public, and are paid for by the Swim Across the Sound fight against cancer.
