License Plate Deadline

WATERBURY –– Time is running out for motorists who still have dark blue Connecticut license plates on their vehicles.

Motorists only have until June 14 to swap the plates at no cost, and without a fine.

Beginning June 15, it will cost $16 to swap the plates for the new light blue plates. Police also will be authorized to issue tickets to any motorists who do not have the light blue plates.

Vehicle owners who have not received the new plates should immediately contact the DMV plate replacement program at 860-263-5458 or by email at mail@dmvct.org.
