Cancer Journey Through Art
Cancer Journey Through Art
DANBURY â The Community Cancer Collaborative (CCC) invites the community to attend the âThe Joy of Survival â Expressions of the Cancer Journey Through Artâ exhibit June 2â30, at The Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital.
The art show is open to the public daily from 8 am to 8 pm. Ample parking is available in the Red Parking Garage (Locust Avenue entrance). The art show was created in response to an idea suggested by people with cancer in the community. It was their vision to have an avenue where those affected by cancer could share their experience through art.
The Joy of Survival art show features an array of more than 100 pieces of art created by cancer survivors and others touched by cancer as an expression of their journey. Descriptions will accompany each piece of artwork on display in the Praxair Cancer Center lobby during the month of June.
Expressions of the Cancer Journey Through Art categories include paintings, drawings, oils, watercolors acrylics, crayons and pastels, visual and written art includes photography, poetry and calligraphy, soft art features quilts, knitting, crochet and cross stitch, sculptures, and jewelry.
