Farewell, Mrs Benton
Farewell, Mrs Benton
To the Editor:
This letter is a salute to a sparkling gem of a teacher, Kris Benton, formerly of St Rose School.
Thank you, Mrs Benton, for the indelible mark of compassion, love, and kindness that you bestowed to my son, Charles, during his kindergarten year of 2004-2005. You welcomed the children of St Rose with a sincere love that was felt in the hearts of the lives that you touched. When my baby girl was born that winter of 2005, you welcomed her as if she were your own.
A love like yours transcends the present and the future. We were very saddened to hear the news of your leaving, but, so happy to know that your future students will be blessed to have you in their lives. They, now, are the fortunate ones, as was my son, and, the children you have cared for, and taught, during your time at St Rose. We wish you only the best in the future, warm welcomes at your new school and a multitude of grandchildren!
It was an honor and a privilege to have known you and we will truly miss the shining light that was you, amid the hallways of St Rose.
With sincere gratitude;
Meg Soto
