Rell: Remove Snow From Cars – It’s The Law

 HARTFORD (AP) — The latest snow and ice storms have literally created flying road hazards — on cars and trucks.

In the wake of several complaints and accidents, including one incident on Interstate 91 Tuesday, Governor M. Jodi is reminding motorists that it is a state law to remove ice and snow from their vehicles.

A truck became disabled on I-91 when a sheet of ice slid from its roof and severed its air brakes, state officials said.

Rell says as snow and ice fly off cars and trucks they become dangerous missiles that can break windshields and cause other serious damage. The governor says state police will be enforcing the law and citing drivers who fail to comply.
