Collaboration, Consensus, And Communication
Collaboration, Consensus, And
Communication
To the Editor:
The approaching election for town offices is of significant importance to the residents of Newtown. It will provide us with the opportunity to move to the next level of making it âNicer in Newtown.â As one of the Republican Town Committee-endorsed candidates for Legislative Council in District 2, I would like to be part of that process.
During my business career, I have traveled and worked throughout the United States and most of the world. An important part of my experience was to facilitate collaboration and consensus through effective communication, often under difficult and complex circumstances. These are skills which I believe will be necessary when dealing with the challenges facing the Legislative Council in the future.
One of those challenges will be to advocate for fiscal responsibility as a guiding principle in the townâs day-to-day operations. An important first step will be to establish a process that facilitates efficiencies throughout all town agencies by combining and sharing resources. Through this cooperation and a more efficient use of town revenues, the desired outcome of a stabilized tax process could be realized.
As a 32-year resident of Newtown, I have seen many changes in the town that I call home. I would like to help with the future changes to Newtown; I respectfully ask for the support of the voters in District 2 and for the support of the Republican candidates by the voters of Newtown.
Thank you,
Rich Woycik
