Truck Vs Deer
A 1998 Toyota XTR pickup truck, driven by Robert L. Boisclair, 46, of Oakville, was traveling southbound on South Main Street between Elm Drive and Greenbriar Lane about 6:12 am October 18, when a deer ran into the road, hit the truck, and then continued running into a wooded area, police said.
Boisclair was not injured. No enforcement action was taken.

Toyota Vs Saturn
Police said motorist David M. Hadad, 36, of 172 Huntingtown Road, who was driving a 1995 Toyota pickup truck, was leaving a driveway on Mt Pleasant Road about 5 pm October 20 when he failed to see motorist Michael Kazzi, 47, of New Milford, who was approaching the driveway in a 1995 Saturn SC-2, resulting in a collision.
There were no injuries. Police issued Hadad a written warning for failure to grant the right of way at a private driveway.
Berkshire Crash
Police report a two-car accident on Berkshire Road about 7:30 am October 19. Police said motorist Sue Jung Kim, 17, of 8 Cherry Heights Terrace, Sandy Hook, was driving a 1999 Hyundai Elantra eastbound on Berkshire Road when she was struck from behind by eastbound motorist Megan E. Drake, 18, of 70 Riverside Road, Sandy Hook, who was driving a 1995 Volkswagen Jetta.
There were no injuries. Police issued Drake an infraction ticket on a charge of failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

I-84 Ricochet
State police said motorist Bruno DeMoura, 19, of Danbury was driving a 2000 Honda coupe westbound on Interstate-84 near Exit 8 about 11 pm October 21 when he lost control of the vehicle and struck concrete barrier railing on the left road shoulder. DeMoura then went across the three westbound travel lanes and struck the metal guard railing along the right road shoulder, state police said. State police said DeMoura made an unsafe lane change.
Subaru Hits Railing
 Motorist Vitalius Grudzinskas, 61, of 3 Misty Vale Road, Sandy Hook, who was driving a 1990 Subaru Legacy station wagon, was westbound in the left lane of Interstate-84, east of Exit 9, about 7:30 pm October 20, when a non-contact vehicle cut into the left lane, causing the Subaru to go out of control and strike guard railing along the right road shoulder, state police said.
Grudzinskas was not injured in the accident, state police said.
Exit 9 Collision
Motorist Ariana R. Mandel, 21, of Brookfield, who was driving a 1995 Toyota sedan, was stopped at a stop sign at the end of Interstate-84âs Exit 9 eastbound off-ramp about 7 pm October 19 and was planning to turn left onto Hawleyville Road, state police said.
A 1998 Subaru station driven by William N. Goldstein, 65, of 19 Georges Hill Road was stopped behind the Toyota, and then drove forward into it, state police said.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps was called to the scene in response to a pain complaint from Ms Mandel, state police said. State police issued Goldstein a written warning for making an unsafe start.
Double Accident
State police said motorist Selvie Islami, 18, of Danbury was driving a 1999 Toyota sedan westbound on Interstate-84 west of the Housatonic River about 8:15 pm October 18 when Islami, while making a curve to the right on the wet roadway, lost control of the auto and spun into the highway median guardrail.
Islami continued traveling westbound, and eventually the autoâs left front tire failed, causing the Toyota to spin into the guard railing along the right road shoulder, just west of Exit 10, state police said.
Islami was not injured. State police said Islami was traveling too fast for conditions.
Honda Crash
Motorist Nilton Lunna DeLima, 37, of Danbury, who was driving a 1985 Honda Prelude eastbound on Interstate-84 near Exit 10 about 11:45 pm October 18, lost control of the auto and spun, striking metal guard rails on the left road shoulder, state police said. DeLima was warned for driving at a speed too fast for conditions.
Dual Truck Crash
State police said trucker Stanislaw Szal, 41, of Hartford was driving a 2000 Ford box truck on eastbound Interstate-84 about 3:15 pm October 16 when a non-contact vehicle suddenly stopped in front of him.
Szal applied his brakes and was struck from behind by an eastbound 1990 Ford tractor-trailer truck driven by Harold Snow, 38, of Tolland, state police said. There were no injuries. State police said Snow was following too closely.
Probation Charge
Police said they served a warrant against Roman J. Rostafin, 54, of 5 Possum Ridge Road October 23, lodging a charge of violation of probation.
Police said they held Rostafin on a $3,500 bond for an October 24 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Rock Through Window
Police report someone threw a rock through a living room window at an Engleside Terrace home in the Riverside section about 11:30 pm October 23. Several people in the area had heard a noise, but no one witnessed the incident, police said. Police ask anyone with information to contact them at the police station at 426-5841.
Key Rock Crash
Police report a one-car accident on Key Rock Road about 10 pm October 6. Police said a 1986 Audi 4000-CS was traveling northbound near 42 Key Rock Road, when the driver, James Dailey, 27, of 30 Edge Lake Drive, Pootatuck Park, while making a curve in the road saw a deer and swerved to avoid it, but skidded and crossed the southbound lane, went off the road and hit a tree.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Mr Dailey to Danbury Hospital for treatment, police said. Firefighters responded top the accident scene.
Police said they charged Mr Dailey with operating an unregistered motor vehicle and issued him a written warning for driving on the incorrect side of the road.
Breach Warrant
Police said John G. Lewis, Sr, 38, of 301 South Main Street turned himself in at the police station October 24 after learning police had a warrant for his arrest on a breach of peace charge in connection with a past incident.
Police said Mr Lewis allegedly threatened a student after an incident involving his son at Newtown Middle School on September 18. Mr Lewis was released on a $2,500 bond for a November 7 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Larceny Charges
Police said they charged two employees of Super Stop & Shop with sixth-degree larceny October 25 after an incident at the South Main St supermarket.
Police said David Delia, 16, of 27 Button Shop Road, who was working as a cashier about 6 pm, did not scan all the merchandise which employee Michael Switser, 18, of 10 Loveland Drive, Sandy Hook, was buying at a check-out register.
Switser attempted to leave the store after paying only 79 cents for $35 worth of merchandise, police said. Both youths are scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court November 9 to answer the charges.
Bicycle Vs Van
Police report an accident between a commercial van and a bicyclist at the intersection of Riverside Road and Cherry Street about 4:20 pm October 25.
Police said motorist James L. Comerford, 37, of 1 Alpine Drive, Sandy Hook, was driving a Charter Communications van westbound on Riverside Road while bicyclist Zachary Pettengill, 10, of 41 Riverside Road was riding a bicycle southbound on Cherry Street.
Pettengill rode through a stop sign at the intersection without stopping and struck the van, receiving a hand injury, police said.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported him to Danbury Hospital where he was treated and released.
Police did not charge Comerford in the accident. Sandy Hook firefighters went to the accident scene.
