Home Builders Donate Tree
MONROE â The Home Build-ers and Remodelors Association of Fairfield County is donating a decorated Christmas tree that will be raffled this weekend at a âTree of Hopeâ event to raise money for Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut. The project is part of a nationwide community service effort â Home Builders Care 2000.
âOur members have decorated our tree with tools, and it will be one of the elaborately decorated trees on display for raffle,â said Mary Boudreau of the Pequot Financial Group, chair of the Home Builders and Remodelors Associationâs Associateâs Council. âSome of our members donated either money or gift certificates so that we could put more tools on the tree. The members of the public who view our tree and the others on display have the opportunity to enter the raffle tickets they buy on the tree or trees of their choice. Over the past ten years, this event has raised about $150,000 for the Ronald McDonald House, and our association is glad to become a part of it this year.â
The Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut provides a âhome away from homeâ primarily for families of children who are being treated at nearby healthcare facilities: namely, to provide convenient, affordable, safe and comfortable temporary housing in a supportive, nurturing environment.
