 When Are Children’s Threats Serious?

The Family Counseling Center Inc. of Newtown will present a free public workshop, “Children’s Threat’s: When Are They Serious?” in the community room of the C.H. Booth Library on Main Street from 7 to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, April 24.

Most threats made by children are not carried out. Many such threats are the child’s way of talking “big” or tough or of getting attention. Some of these threats are a reaction to perceived hurt, rejection, or attack. How can you tell when it is real?

Merry Frons, a licensed clinical social worker, will lead the discussion on this important topic. Parents with school-age children are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.

For more information, call the Family Counseling Center at 426-8103. The FCC is a nonprofit mental health agency serving the greater Danbury area.
