Putting Your Garden To Bed
Putting Your Garden To Bed
WOODBURY â âPutting Your Garden to Bedâ is the subject of a three-hour garden workshop to be hosted twice by the Glebe House Museum and Gertrude Jekyll Garden.
Judith Kelz, a Glebe House gardener, garden camp director, and master gardener, will lead the workshop on Wednesday, October 3, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The program will be repeated on Saturday, October 6, during the same hours.
Taking care of the garden in fall means less work in the spring, when there is so much to do. Simple maintenance can make all the difference between a garden that limps along and one that flourishes. Participants will learn simple things to do in their own gardens that will pay off for them next spring and summer.
Participants will learn how to divide perennials, prepare tools for storage, and other tasks necessary to clean up and prepare the garden for winter. The program cost is $25.
For further information or to register, call the Glebe House at 203-263-2855. The Glebe House Museum is on Hollow Road, off Route 6.
