Advances In Parkinson Research

NORWALK — April has been proclaimed by Governor John G. Rowland as Parkinson Awareness Month in Connecticut. The American Parkinson Disease Association has encouraged celebrations throughout the nation. Connecticut Chapter of APDA will kickoff its activities by hosting a meeting and luncheon at The Riverview, 301 Merritt 7, on March 29, at 10:30 am.

Dr J Antonelle DeMarcaida, a neurologist/movement disorder specialist at the UConn Health Center and Hartford Hospital, will discuss “Exciting Advances in Parkinson Disease.”

Cost will be $15 for a choice of Yankee pot roast, chicken piccata, or salmon filet for lunch. Reservations must be made by March 21 with Connecticut Chapter, 203-288-0546. Information may be obtained from the Information and Referral Center 203-789-3936 or toll-free 888-400-2732.

Parkinson disease causes and treatment are being researched extensively and the answers should be found in the very near future. This will be an opportunity to hear about what is happening.
