Shelby Neveriski poured in 26 points and pulled down six rebounds as Imagine This captured the Newtown Health & Fitness Women’s Basketball League championship with a 60-29 win over Walsh Logging on Tuesday night.

Neveriski – the league’s leading scorer with 572 total points and a 28.6 per game average – also made three steals, dished off two assists, and blocked two shots. Kelly Fegler finished with 16 points, 17 rebounds (12 of those in the first half), five blocked shots and three assists.

Suzanne Marsan chipped in with 12 points, five rebounds, a block and a steal. Bonnie Willie and Amy Mangold combined for four points while Amy also pulled down six rebounds and had a blocked shot.  Nancy Bowen and Sherri Baggett played solid defense.

For Walsh Logging, Ruth Rowe dropped in 16 points and had six rebounds and four steals. Megan LaCava added nine points and had a strong game off the glass with 12 rebounds. Carol Hutzinger scored four points with two rebounds and a steal while Pat McCullough and Doris Ratner combined for eight rebounds and two steals.

The players finished the season by thanking Pete and Bob for their efforts officiating and thanking George and Dorie at NH&F for the end of season foot and drinks.
