State Police Arrest Garner Inmate
On Assault Charge
State police responded to Garner Correctional Institution, the stateâs high-security prison on Nunnawauk Road, about 10 pm November 9, after learning of an incident involving an inmate and a correction officer.
State police said their investigation found that inmate Troy Jaynes, 39, had thrown a cup of urine onto a correction officer.
Jaynes refused to provide a statement to investigators and also refused to be fingerprinted, state police said. State police arrested Jaynes on charges of assault on a correction officer and refusal to be fingerprinted.
Jaynes was scheduled to be arraigned on the charges in Danbury Superior Court.
Jaynes is serving a 50-year sentence in Garner on a murder conviction.
