Good Samaritans

To the Editor:

I would like to thank the members of the community who stopped to help me when my son’s farm truck broke down on Route 25 on Thursday, July 12, around noon. Five cars stopped to offer their assistance and Jim Denike went to his home and returned with tools and put the truck back on the road!

The Newtown Police called for a paramedic before Carlos drove me to the deli, where everyone was right there with ice, and Carlos bought first aid cream for the severe burns on my fingertips.

I had traveled from Naples, Florida, to visit my son Brian and daughter-in-law Annette, who operate Zoar Ridge Riding Stables. Now I know one of the reasons my heart is still here in Connecticut.
