Afternoon With A Playwright
Afternoon With A Playwright
DANBURY â The Western Connecticut Association for Human Rights (WeCAHR) will hold its second Afternoon With a Connecticut Author on Sunday, September 25, when Bill C. Davis will offer a reading of a new play, Austinâs Bridge, from 3:30 to 6:30 pm at Warner Hall at Western Connecticut State University.
The afternoon also will include original musical composition by Brett Boles, formerly of Newtown and Easton. Entertainment will feature students from the WCSU drama department as well as original works of art.
Bill Davis is recognized for his work Mass Appeal, which also was made into a movie starring Jack Lemmon. The play dramatizes the polarity of rebelliousness and the urge to accommodate the need to be loved and liked. Mr Davisâs new work, Austinâs Bridge, comes from his own experience living with individuals with developmental disabilities in Rhinebeck Country Village.
WeCAHR is an advocacy organization assisting individuals with disabilities and their families to live and work in the community. This event is a fundraiser for WeCAHR and will provide support to its community advocacy program. Donations for the event, which includes a silent auction, are $50 per person; tickets may be reserved by calling 792-3540.
