Small Fire At Pitney Bowes

Fire Marshal William Halstead reported that Hook & Ladder responded to a call the morning of Saturday, September 10, at the Pitney Bowes Distribution Center located at 7 Edmond Road.

Maintenance workers entered a warehouse and found it filled with smoke. The workers activated the fire alarm and used fire extinguishers to put out the fire. The fire appeared to be due to an electrical malfunction; no word on the amount of damage caused in the fire at this time.

There were no injuries. Sandy Hook and Hawleyville responded as back up.
