Book Group Will Discuss Shreve Title

BETHEL — On Tuesday, August 14, from 7:30 to 9 pm, Bethel Public Library’s monthly book discussion group will be focusing on The Weight of Water by Anita Shreve.

The Weight of Water tells two concurrent stories, one concerning the brutal murder of two women on a small island off the New Hampshire coast in 1873, and the other about a marriage on the rocks over a century later. The novel was hailed by Publisher’s Weekly in a starred review as “…a powerfully compelling tale of passion, a provocation and disturbing meditation on the nature of love.”

Book discussions take place in the Seelye Room with refreshments provided by The Friends of the Bethel Public Library. Registration for the program is suggested.
