Jay St Mark will be the guest appraiser on Sunday afternoon for an antiques appraisal day at The Homesteads at Newtown.
Mr St Mark, who has lived in Newtown for more than 25 years, is actively engaged in the antiques field as an appraiser and show promoter. He has participated in âRoad Showâ-style appraisal days for The Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County, New Fairfield Historical Society, Danbury Museum & Historical Society, Branford Historical Society, and Hebron Historical Society, just to name a few of his engagements.
Mr St Mark has published several scholarly articles and has addressed area historical societies concerning antiques and collectibles. Noted among his clients are the insurance adjusters Osborne Associates, the Danbury-based attorney Martin A. Radar, Jr; the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the State of Connecticut Public Defender Department.
Mr St Mark is considered one of the areaâs foremost antiques and collectibles appraisers.
Bring in paintings and other artwork, china and other glassware, pewter, and general antiques for Mr St Mark to assess. Photographs are acceptable for large.
Firearms and weapons will not be allowed into the building.
Cost is $5 per item, with a three item limit. Proceeds will benefit Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Association.
Light refreshments will be served. The Homesteads is at 166 Mt Pleasant Road (Route 6). Reservations are not necessary, but additional information is available at 426-8118.
