In this TheatreWorks original, mirth, music and mystery meet as A Christmas Carol continues with a cast of a few real actors and a host of real puppets. Following the redemption of everyone’s favorite miser, it appears old Ebenezer has fallen – or was pushed – to his death. His heir, nephew Fred, is now on trial for the murder. The testimony of a series of colorful witnesses reveals some truths, some lies and a lot of laughs before the final verdict is heard.

The cast consists of two human actors – one male and one female – aged 25 to 40 and ten puppeteer performers (Avenue Q style).

Both singing and non-singing roles are available. Singers must come prepared with 16 bars. An accompanist will be provided. Puppetry experience is not required, just a willingness to learn.

The auditions will be held at TheatreWorks on Monday, September 26, and Tuesday, September 27, from 7 to 9 pm each night.

TheatreWorks offers a stipend to all performers, technicians and directors.

Rehearsals will begin in early October (usually Monday through Friday evenings) with performances beginning December 2 and running through December 31 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The theater is at 5 Brookside Avenue, just off Route 202 (next to M&B’s IGA) in New Milford. Call 860-350-6863 for additional information.
