Philip R. Linley, 88, of Fairfield, died on June 27 at St Vincent’s Hospital.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy; his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Deb Linley of Newtown, two grandsons he thought the world of, Brett and Richard; and several nieces and nephews.

Born in Bridgeport Hospital, Mr Linley lived in Fairfield his entire life. He was a veteran of World War II and had served in the Army Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Post 143.

Mr Linley was a master machinist and worked at Universal Thread Grinding until his retirement.

He was predeceased by his brothers Leonard, George, and Francis.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 3, at Larson’s Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue in Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family from 5 to 6 pm, with the service beginning at 6.
